We are extremely proud of the high standards of care provided by our staff and are delighted that many have chosen to work at our homes for their entire careers, some of whom have been with us for over 25 years.

Each home is overseen by our CQC Registered Managers, who are valued members of the team. The Managers are registered nurses, enabling them to be hands-on with the day to day running of each of our homes. They will gladly help you to understand the care needs of your loved ones and how we can ensure that they are offered the appropriate support for their specific requirements. They are also always happy to discuss any questions you may have, as we know that choosing a home for a loved one can be an overwhelming task.

We go to great lengths to ensure that residents feel at home with us and encourage individuals to continue to enjoy life’s pleasures as much as they feel able to. To fulfil this, we have a fantastic team of support staff, with full-time activities co-ordinators, talented catering teams, and hospitality staff across both homes.

Grace Urbaczewska

Hill House CQC Registered Manager

Since joining us in 2018, Grace has brought a remarkable sense of calm and order to Carey Care. Her open and approachable nature makes her the first person we turn to, knowing we’ll always be heard. Grace is always on the move, making sure everything’s running smoothly. Her impressive background, encompassing over 40 years in both surgical and school nursing, alongside over 11 years of management experience, provides a solid foundation of diverse knowledge, care, and leadership that benefits everyone at our Homes.

Stella Bernatek

Westside CQC Registered Manager

Stella returned to us in October 2023, now with almost 17 years of care home management experience, she leads Westside. Stella is a Registered Nurse, having originally trained at Hill House, and brings her experience and leadership to the team. With an open door policy, Stella is always approachable and supports her team, the residents, and their relatives at all times. Stella ensures that highest standards are maintained within the home and works with her team to achieve these.

David Charman

Palliative Care Lead

Since joining Hill House in 2018, David has transformed his career from a dedicated nurse to a compassionate Palliative Care leader. Every morning, he diligently visits each resident, ensuring their well-being and the seamless operation of our team. Additionally, David often conducts bespoke in-house training sessions for our staff, empowering them with his expertise.

Annette Desouza

Westside Deputy Manager

Annette is our Deputy Manager at Westside Care Home, having begun her career with us as a Registered Nurse in 2009, before being promoted to Deputy Manager in 2015. Annette is a great team leader with high standards, who encourages her staff to always do their best in their work and lead by example. Annette also has a real passion for gardening and enjoys keeping our gardens looking lovely and well looked after. She always involves the residents and they enjoy sitting out enjoying the garden in the warmer weather and watching the wildlife.

Rodney Balraj

Head of Catering

Since 1991, our Catering Manager Rodney has been the driving force behind our kitchen team, crafting wholesome meals for our residents for over three decades. His dedication to tailoring each dish to match the unique preferences and dietary needs of our residents ensures that every bite is a delightful experience. With his exceptional culinary expertise, Rodney transforms dining into an unforgettable part of daily life for the residents. We also adore his input for big occasions such as our summer barbecues, Christmas, and birthday celebrations.

Angie Springall

HR Manager

Angie has led HR at Carey Care since 2018, expertly guiding more than 130 employees. Angie oversees training needs, compliance checks, performance reviews, recruitment and onboarding.
Renowned for embracing individuality and providing unwavering support to the team, Angie is the trusted go-to for her colleagues—offering knowledgeable guidance, encouragement, and genuine warmth and understanding in every interaction.

Shaun

Activities Lead

As our dedicated Activities Lead for Carey Care, Shaun brings his expertise and energy to enrich the lives of residents across both of our Care Homes. He has an in depth knowledge of each resident’s history and their preferences, and this understanding allows him to expertly personalise activities to suit their needs, ensuring they are engaging and meaningful for everyone involved. Shaun is also a key contributor in the planning of events within our Homes, bringing his creativity and a person-centred approach to every occasion. Shaun’s genuine passion for his work is clear to see and makes him a valued member of our team within Carey Care.

Veronica Mondan

Hospitality Manager

Meet Veronica, our Hospitality Manager, who’s been an integral part of Hill House since 2017. She’s got an incredible eye for detail, making sure every little corner of the Home, both inside and out, is perfectly looked after. But Veronica’s magic doesn’t stop there; she makes the most delightful cups of tea and coffee for our residents. Her drinks are so good that people all around love them. Veronica shines with her creativity, coming up with unique event themes and innovative ideas for celebrations, so you can always expect something exciting. 

Ieva Silina

Sales, Marketing & Admin Lead

Eva is a proud member of the Administration team and has the pleasure of being the first point of contact when visitors step through the doors. She began her journey here as the Home Administrator in 2018 and now serves as the Marketing/Sales & Admin Lead. This role has provided her with invaluable experience across diverse areas. She is enthusiastic about taking the lead on social media initiatives, and ensuring the website content remains current and engaging.
