Carey Care is named after our grandparents, Dick & Inge Carey, who founded the original Hill House Care Home in 1954. Being a family-run business for the past 70 years has enabled us to develop and sustain a unique level of care for our residents and their families. We often welcome multiple generations of the same family into our homes and are extremely well-established within the borough of Croydon and throughout Surrey.
Whilst in our care, residents are supported 24 hours a day by our experienced CQC Registered Managers, along with our dedicated and highly skilled team of nurses and carers. They will make every effort to ensure any stay in one of our homes is as comfortable and pleasurable as possible, whilst meeting the individual medical and non-medical requirements of each resident.
From your initial visit, our team will begin to form a picture of the type of care and interaction required. Together, we will create a personalised plan, supported by an initial assessment, ensuring the highest standard of care for your family and loved ones in our homes.
” My mother was transferred to Hill House for end-of-life care. She was extremely frail on admission and her needs were assessed immediately and a care plan developed. Her care there on was truly outstanding. All the staff were highly professional in addressing her personal needs she was always clean and comfortable. The staff also demonstrated excellent communication skills both with mum and the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble from providing refreshments to arranging a bed to stay over during her last few days. “
Our homes are led by Nursing Managers, providing stability of hands-on nursing care, with the ability to confidently manage complex nursing requirements.
Recognised by health care professionals and throughout the local communities. We are recommended as competent care providers by the NHS Integrated Care Board and Continuing Healthcare. We are also affiliated with St. Christopher’s hospice to provide palliative and end of life care.
At our core we have been a family-run business for 70 years, now in the third-generation. This allows us to provide a personal level of care and support to our residents, their families, and our staff. The directors are often on-site and available to discuss any care, financial or legal queries you may have.
We are continuously looking for ways to improve and stay at the forefront of care provision, whether that be through training, technology, or services we can offer. We are very proud to have been awarded UK Top 20 Small Care Home Group in 2023, as well as Care Home of the Year in 2022 by the Gold Standards Framework for End of Life Care.
